Upgrading the Laptop

Since Marty is about to hit 7th level, and Limey has not been updated in a while, it was a logical decision to update the battling businessman’s sidekick and personal assistant. Limey is now roughly equivalent to a human eight-year old. His  latest character ability is one that should help him in magical realms: the ability to assist another spellcaster with an Aid Another action.  I’ll post an update of Marty in the next few days.

+1 ECL Race: Battling Business World Sentient Office Device (42 CP)

  • Fast Learner/Specialized in Skills: +2 SP/Level (6 CP).
  • +4 Intelligence (Normally 24 CP, reduced to 12 CP by world laws).
  • Attribute Shift: -2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution (6 CP).
  • Immunity/Aging (can expect to live almost indefinitely, uncommon / minor / major, 3 CP).
  • Damage Reduction 5/- (12 CP) and Defender (Improved)[ (+Level/5 rounded down + 1 natural armor] (12 CP).
  • Extraordinary Returning (Specialized, Requires being “animated” with standard cel-based or 3D animation tools) (3 CP). A sentient office device is much like a human Battling Business Worlder. It has trouble thinking of itself as a creation (despite being an artificial being to begin with) and doesn’t know it has this ability.
  • Martial Arts: Counts as armed and inflicts 1d4 damage when fighting unarmed (3 CP).
  • Innate Enchantment: All spells Personal Only: Regenerate Light Wounds (1/Round, up to 20 points/level/day maximum, 1400 GP) and Immortal Vigor I (+12 + 2x Con Mod HP, 1400 GP). 2800 GP total, 6 CP.
  • 6 CP dedicated to the device’s intended function. For most sentient office devices, skills will do. Some, such as copiers, require an Innate Spell. Limey has more than this because he’s a high-end device.
  • Template Disadvantages: Insane (most toons are blasé, even bored, in even the most dangerous and deadly situations, -3 CP) and Slow (sentient office devices’ legs are stubby, -3 CP).
  • Entire template is Corrupted: character becomes inanimate in non-magical realms after running out of magic points.
  • Limey is a Small size character, which adds +5 CP to his template cost. He gains the following modifiers: -2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, +1 size bonus to Armor Class, +1 size bonus to attack rolls, d4 falling damage die, and SM 4. His Shrinking is Corrupted to reduce his movement speed.

Available Character Points:

Disadvantages: Compulsive (friendliness), Inept (Charisma-based skills), and Unarmored (body structure makes wearing non-integral armor nearly impossible) (+10 CP), Duties (works for Marty and Amarant Solutions, +2 CP/Level). Total: 48 CP L1 Base + 78 = 126.

Basics (36 CP):

Attributes: Strength 15/+2 (DR 2/-), Dexterity 10/+0, Constitution 18/+4 (4 magic points), Intelligence 21/+5, Wisdom 15/+2 (+2 AC), Charisma 12/+1. Rolled Attributes: 17, 10, 16, 17, 15, 11. +1 Charisma from L4 Improved Self-Development.

Saves: Fortitude +3 + 4 (Con)= +7 (12 CP), Reflex +0, Will +0 + 2 (Wis).

Free Languages: English (Native), French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish.

Hit Dice: L1-4: 4d10, L2-4: 3d4 (24 CP). HP 32 + 20 (Magic) +24 (Con Mod)= 76 HP, 56 in Core and nearby realms.

Combat Information (21 CP):

Proficiencies: All Simple Weapons (3 CP).

Move: 10 ft. (-10 ft. from size, -10 ft. from Slow)

Initiative: -2 (-2 from Slow)

BAB: +3 (18 CP)

Armor Class: 10 (Base) + 1 (natural armor) + 1 (size) + 2 (Wis, per world rules)) = 14. Total damage resistance is 7/-.

Abilities (69 CP):

Assistant (Aide) (12 CP): Grants a +4 bonus when using “Aid Another” actions; may also grant a +2 bonus to mystical and psionic actions.

Dimensional Adaptation (2 CP): Enthusiast (Specialized: “Identities” skill only; Corrupted, Only reduces the cost of identities he actually establishes, only changes in new world). All roles effectively L2 for only one skill point each.

Enthusiast (1 CP): Specialized, only changes with access to appropriate skill programs.

Dimensional Talent (2 CP): Immunity/limitations on Identity level (Common, Minor, Trivial);+1 on the limit to Identity level.

Martial Arts (3 CP): Inflicts 1d6 when unarmed, counts as an armed attacker.

Mystic Link/Marty Tabard (Communication) (6 CP): Limey knows where Marty is at all times and can communicate with him regardless of distance.

Overclocking (Hysteria/Mental) (6 CP): Limey may spend a magic point to add +6 to any relevant ability for 1 round. This counts as a free action.

Stoic (6 CP): Not subject to death by massive damage and may make a DC 15 Fortitude save each round to self-stabilize at 0 HP.

Skill Points: 31 CP+ 8 Racial + 35 Int = 74 SP.

Bonus Abilities (no cost):

Improved Fortune (Evasion) (12 CP): Takes no damage from area attacks on a successful Reflex save and half damage on a failed save.

Broad Skills (All +5 Int, 38 SP):

Physical Skills (7 SP): Stealth (Dex) +17 (7 SP).

Knowledge Skills (14 SP): Computer Operation (Int) (7 SP) +17, Electronics Operation (Int) (7 SP) +17.
